Cuando se publicó la primera edición de Text and Atlas of Wound Diagnosis and Treatment (Diagnóstico y tratamiento de heridas. Texto y atlas), un médico amigo mío me dijo: "Si tengo un paciente con una herida en mi consultorio y no sé qué es, no tengo tiempo para leer este libro y encontrarlo". A partir de esa conversación, se originó la idea de una referencia pictórica que los médicos en ejercicio podrían usar para diagnosticar heridas poco comunes y, así, tener un punto de partida para desarrollar un plan de atención, incluso remisiones apropiadas a otros especialistas médicos. |
